If you were to ask a lot of NBA players on what was there most memorable experience or memorable game was, you’d get an answer involving Kobe Bryant in some way, shape or form. Some may say a game he played against them or his 81 point game. However, Demar DeRozan chose one of Kobe’s most unflattering moments for the inspiration behind his PE colorway for the Kobe A.D. The inspiration behind the colorway was Kobe first playoff game in 1997 against the Utah Jazz, where Kobe Bryant “airballed” his first four shots. Despite this being Kobe’s worst game, this inspired DeRozans mentality to never give up and preserve through all adversity. Paying homage to this memory is the date, which can be seen on the lace tips. Other highlighted features include the street Demar grew up on in Compton on the insole and sockliner, along with the old Utah Jazz colors which are featured on the Kobe logo and DNA symbol. The shoe will can be available for $160.00 at select Nike Basketball retailers.
